Thanks to all for SAFEE Aviation Day Expo at Marlins Park!
It was a very exciting endeavor for the entire SAFEE organization, its partners and friends. Nearly twenty aviation and STEM groups participated in the educational special expo held in the Lexus Legends area of Marlins stadium. Representatives from the 99s, Civil Air Patrol, Remote Control Aircraft, NATCA, PASS, FMU, MDAD, MDC-Aviation, MDC-Entec, Atlantic Models, MDCPS-Tech, iTech, George T Baker, Experience Aviation, Wayman Flight Training and OBAP participated. At the expo there were Flight Sims, NASA Smart Skies interactive program and the much celebrated SAFEE Kid-Zone, which launched the SAFEE Kids Aircraft that was designed, constructed and donated by our friends at Atlantic Models.
Over 1200 persons participated in the event and nearly 800 Marlins-SAFEE promotional tickets were sold. Five dollars from each ticket will be donated to these three Aviation non-profit organizations, the 99s, Experience Aviation, and the Civil Air Patrol. Each of these groups has as their focus to reach as many youth as possible through aviation/STEM education.
VIPs from ten of the organizations that have been strong supporters of many of SAFEE Flight’s ventures were recognized during the on-field ceremony. They included Boeing, AAR, NATCA, DOT-OSDBU, Jetstream FCU, MDC Aviation, MDC North, George T Baker, Civil Air Patrol, and Atlantic Models.
At the event, State Attorney Katherine Fernandez-Rundle and Singer-Song Writer Willy Chirino were recognized as the “2015 SAFEE Flight Ambassadors”. Both ambassadors have their own youth organizations and have agreed to join SAFEE in support of our programs in the community.
SAFEE Flight was honored at the event when Director, Darrell Roberts , was handed the game ball and threw out the 1st pitch.
